I haven't been around much this week. I've been busy entertaining a small visitor from Georgia :). Little Anzie and her mommy are here and I'm spending every possible moment spoiling her. When grandchildren live so far away, you have to make the most of the "one-on-one" time. Anzie will be 8 weeks old on Monday, time is flying. She has a smile that would melt a witch's heart.
My daughter decided she would get her hair cut while she was here. She had 12 inches cut off and donated it to Locks of Love. She has always had long hair and with the prenatal vitamins it grew very long over the past year. The temperature in Georgia had forced her to wear her hair up all of the time. She decided she might as well get it cut and help someone at the same time.
I can tell you, I'm not looking forward to Sunday.................daughter and granddaughter will be heading home to Daddy. I know this house is going to feel very empty and it will surely be way too quiet.

I can relate Irish. My son is the only one still living on Long Island.
Two of my daughters live upstate and the other one in Maryland. It was so wonderful having everyone together the weekend of my son's wedding. My 4 haven't been altogether since last Sept. for my husband 60th birthday. We all miss each other so much. My parents and my mother in law will probably never be able to come here again because of their ages and my sister hasn't been to Long Island in 7 yrs. There was alot of crying going on when they all left. So I know how you will feel Sun. But aren't we lucky in this day and age to have computers to keep in touch with those we love. We can instant message and write emails and of course, share photos. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. When you get the time check out some photos from the wedding on the celebration thread and I hope you are taking photos of the visit to share with us too.

Kramer, I've never seen time pass so quickly. :( I can't believe they are leaving in the morning. Today the younger members of the family are off to the Indianapolis Zoo. Grandpa is doing a parade and car show. Grandma is at home preparing my visiting daughter's favorite meal for dinner this evening. Virgo, I just made your Bleu Cheese Cole Slaw, I'm sure it will be a hit. My daughter wanted chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, corn, homemade raspberry pie and whatever else I wanted to fix. So far, the pie is finished and the chicken is cooking.

Wonderful that you got this time together, and I loved hearing about your daughter donating her hair to locks of love that is fantastic!
Enjoy the slaw Irish, we sure do. I originally got that recipe from my sister who made it up one day and everyone went nuts for it. I passed it on to Virgo and others, and yeah everyone loves it so I'm sure you will too.

A visit already? That's wonderful. The babies don't stay babies very long. I love that little wiggleworm stage.

The house is so quiet this morning. My daughter and granddaughter flew home to Augusta yesterday. Mr. Irish is at work and it is just me and the cat this morning. I just walked into the bedroom where they slept and the sweet baby smell is still there. Pocket mentioned the "little wiggleworm stage" in an earlier post. That is such an accurate description. I just love to hold and cuddle the tiny ones.............they outgrow that stage so quickly.
It looks like it will be six weeks or so before we see little Anzie again. I'm sure the changes will be astonishing. Until then, thank God for computers and phones.
I'll post a couple of pictures from the weekend as soon as the girls send them to me.

How great that you got to spend time with your daughter and grand-daughter!! Anzie is such a cute name...I like it. And kids are just the best at that age. I love it when they cuddle with you. :)

Wow that's a lot of hair!!! Great way to get a hair cut and give back too. And I know that she will appreciate shorter hair now that she has a little one!!! :thumb:

Have a safe trip and wonderful trip. Where in GA, Irish? My MIL lives in Millen. I have never been down there because she recently moved from FL, but its pretty rural. Near Savannah I think. Enjoy the weekend!

The kids live in Augusta. Mr. Irish and I went to Savannah when we were killing time waiting for the baby to be born. Savannah is beautiful, I want to go back when we have more time.

Have a great time, IL! You guys are gonna wear out your car this summer. ;)
LOL, funny you should say that. We got a new car a couple of weeks before we went on the Albuquerque trip. The car we were driving (a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville) had over 60,000 miles on it and we had done absolutely nothing to it, not even new tires. We thought we were pushing it and decided it was better to put money on a new car rather than pouring it into the old one. So now we are again covered by a new car warranty. We still have another trip to go after this one. We're heading out to the OBX the 1st of September. One of the great things about being retired (or in Mr. Irish's case retired, but working part-time for the world's most understanding boss) is being able to take off whenever you want. As you have probably figured out by now..........we are not air travelers. ;)

Ahhh, I didn't see your car when you were here so I didn't know you had a brand-spanking new one! Good, you ought to be able to go on a good many trips before you wear it out. :D
