It's about time I get around to this I think!
I've had the most trouble EVER with these pictures, most cam out way too dark. I tried to lighten them but it ttok a long long time and most came out really funny looking when they were lightened. I had over 300 so it took a while to go through them all. I found maybe around 25 worth posting. I was very disappointed with the outcome :crying:
well here they are.

Well, that didnt work very well, lets home this time works :luck:
On some of the nights spent at my fiancees house we had a little fire in their backyard and we roasted weiners and hot peppers. This picture reminds me of people dancing around a fire -sorta.

This is a picture of Jenn's family dog. He gets so excited when we take him for walks he takes his lease in his mouth and pulls you along

Her family lives right next to a big river and there are dams all over the river, this is one that we visited which has a park and RV campsite right next to it. This dam also supplies power to a near by pulp and paper mill

When they open some of the water gates more water rushes through and causes the water level to rise. One of the gates opened while we were there and the water rose about 4 feet! this is an after shot...the before shot didn't come out to well.
http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 078.jpg
here is a part of the town with water tower in the background. We were walking across an old bridge that was used by trains years ago. they took up all the tracks some time ago. This was once a train town that relied heavely on them for the towns survival and gowth.
http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 093.jpg
brace yourself! the next picture may scare you! this is me! it doesn't do me justice, seriously!..I look too much like my uncle there and thats not a good thing (trust me, if you knew him you'd say that too lol)
http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 091.jpg
This is an old farm that has been over taken by a swamp just on the other side of that bridge.
http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 101.jpg
Since the train tracks went all over the island you can pretty much get from one end to the other. People mainly use ATV's on them now and it's not uncommon to find signage on the tracks.
http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 098.jpg
Here is the hall that we will be using for our wedding party. It can hold up to 400 people. It doesn't look that big from this angle but it's huge
http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 124.jpg
Here is the church we will be getting married in. It's small! VERY small! it can fit close to 80 adults inside.
http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 130.jpg
The next 2 pictures are taken close to the west side of the island they are of a ski resort(in the off season) a lot of rich European people come to this area during the winter to ski

http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 144.jpg
Here are 2 pictures of some mountains
http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 159.jpg
http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 164.jpg
This is a picture of some waves crashing ashore on the west coast. It's always very windy here
http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 202.jpg
Someone had fixed up an old war plane and was flying it all over Canada and the USA showing it off. we managed to take some pictures at the airport
http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 220.jpg
The area that I went to on the west coast is named Stephenville. Back in the good ol' days it as an american air base that was in use during WWi and WWii When the wars were over they just left it here for us. here is an old hanger that now is used just for storage
http://www.somewhereclosetonowhere.net/Picture 231.jpg
On the outskirts of this town there is a nice lake with a very small island in the middle. It looks like a great campsite but we didn't stay there for any amount of time, just to snap some photos.

I may find some more pictures later, I gotta try and find some more good ones to post.

Snip, the photos you posted really gave me a sense of where you live. The area is beautiful. Love the white church! Looks like such a quaint and peaceful town. Reminds me a lot of Maine where I was born and my family lives.......especially the coast of Maine where I have some relatives.
And hey, don't knock yourself you are a nice looking man. Glad to hear you had a nice vacation and thanks for sharing.

I don't expect to ever get to your area of the world Snip, so I do appreciate seeing the pictures. I'm sorry all your pictures didn't turn out well and I hope the most important ones are the ones that turned out.

Hey, Snip, I edited your post to fix the link to the picture with the signs. Hope you don't mind but I wanted to see them all. :)
I love the church. My first thought was that it looked like New England and it seems that Virgo thinks so too.
On those pics of the skiing mountains, are the mowed areas the ski paths when covered in snow? When I see something like that near here, there are usually power lines coming through the cleared spaces. All I can see in your pic is the ski lift.
The scenery is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your pics with us! I guarantee you that I don't see scenery like that around here.

Sorry, I didnt realize that picture wasn't coming out. Thanks for fixing it!
Yeah, the cleared areas are where the skiers ski down. There are some areas cleared for lifts, and some for the slopes, I think there is even one there for the powerlines as well. It looks really cool when the snow is there.

Lovely pictures. Just great :) I love seeing mountains and stuff. Makes me all peaceful inside. We have some ski resorts that we pass going various places in Ontario so even without the explanation I would have known that was a resort :) I love seeing them all year round. I wonder that they don't put huge slip'nslides on them for a weekend each year and have some fun with that :) it'd be awesome. Imagine if they used the snow machines for it too....oh that'd be so cool. Snow comin down but by the time it hits it melts and you go slippin down.

Have you seen the human "gerbil balls" that a lot of ski resorts are using in the summer? They strap you in and roll you down.
YIKES!
(Nice pics!!!!)
