A friend just shared these photos of our boys during a summer visit to her dad's place in northern Michigan.
I need to put these somewhere to remind me of how much fun it is to "do nothing!"

Wow that sunset is gorgeous. The kids look like they were having a ball for themselves. Well, I won't miss the heat and humidity, but will miss the flowers and birds and ice cream every night.

Those are really nice pictures, thanks for sharing!
I can really tell summer is over....the leafs are changing colours here and starting to fall in some places. And all last week the temp didnt go above 11 degrees. (thats about 51.8 degrees in fahrenheit)

Nice pics. Sure seems that Summer is over here with the drop in temps for over a week now. But Indian Summer is right around the corner. :)

Great pics, Gabby. You should pull those out in January. It seems so hard to remember the summer then.
OMG, Snip. When you said 11 degrees I about flipped until you posted the F equilivent! Even that seems darned cold. It was in the 60's here a couple of mornings last week and, after weeks in the 90-100 range, even that felt freezing.

:ices: lol I'm glad I showed both!! I figured some might not realize that I use C instead of F and I didn't want anyone to think I lived in an igloo or something lol
Gotta keep you all on your toes!!!

It registers 72 F on the outside thermometer here in so. CA at 2:00 a.m. You can count on the possibility of it being 100 F during the day until October 15. It is hard starting school in the heat with all the kids wearing their new, starched jeans.
I remember frosty mornings in September where I grew up in MN,long ago.

Temps starting to hit low 50s (F) from dusk to dawn, but still in the 80s when the sun's up. Time to start remembering what I did with my sweaters. ;)

I miss wearing sweaters. In this climate, there aren't too many days to wear a nice, warm snuggly sweater.* Cardigans, yes....you can remove them easily if you're out and about.
*Having said that, we'll probably have an extra cold winter, and I can dig out all my outdated sweaters. They never wear out, just go out of style.

I hate to see summer go. Those pics are awesome Gabby, is that Glen Lake?
We had a really fun summer, I hope we don't go too stir crazy during this winter season.

Hot and dry, dry, dry lately and the nights have been in the low 70s. It's fun to watch my cats in the morning being frisky in the "cold"! All 72 degrees of it! :)
Pocket, it would be nice to have a cold winter after the last couple of warm ones. A few days in the 30degree range would be nice. Just not too wet and no ice storms! I don't think we ever even had a hard freeze last year. I better watch out what I wish for!

It's Long Lake (Gee -- how many of those do we have?) just north of Crystal Lake. We stayed at Little Lake Platte, but this is a friend's lake house.
