Finally. :)

I've just worked 13 days in a row (almost, since I'm at work right now). And if there was a way they could have me legally work tomorrow, they would. We're short handed right now and no one wants these hours. To top it off, my husband is on mandatory OT for at least the next 6 weeks. We haven't seen each other since Labor Day - we have a marriage of post-its and voice mail.

So tomorrow (actually later today) we're taking DJ to the Big E (it's a big regional fair for all the New England states). It'll be llike hanging out with two strangers - not even sure I'll recognize the guys.

I'm glad you finally got a post to work in here AND that you'll be able to have a day w/your guys!

Well, Lion, you go and ROAR and enjoy that much needed day off. I heard about the Big E and how great it is. Have fun!!! Eat lots of junk like funnel cake and cotton candy!!!

...Place them on the mantel. Sorry you are so stretched. Hope there is lots of additional $$ for when you do have time.

We had a great time. And of course, there were clam fritters and cream puffs and fresh cider and steamed cheeseburgers. A booth had animal sculptures in "fur", actually, it's more like hair. ;) Lots of cats and dogs on the shelves. J made a comment about no lions just as I saw something out of the corner of my eye. LOL...yep, J got me yet another lion for the collection. Got Anna her first Christmas ornament - but we need her to make her entrance to collect all these goodies we have for her! DJ found a skateboard/snowboard booth, so that's where he spent his $$$. And J walked out in maple syrup heaven.

Got tired way too early, so we left around 4. When I got home, I couldn't sleep - I got sunburnt and couldn't get comfortable. I slept the whole day today, on and off - I think I was only awake 5 hours. Honestly, I could have used another day off.

Best part of the whole day? In the car on the way home, DJ pops out, "I don't know why Gar complains about his mom so much - I think it's cool spending time with you guys."

Glad you had a great day! I love the Big E. We used to go every year when I was a kid (grew up in Central Connecticut). Usually a bus trip with my dad's Knights of Columbus group. Loved the rides, loved the cool vendors, and the halls with the different state displays.

One of the things I like about fall in New England - all the festivals. We went to the Big E, the Berlin Fair, the Southington Apple Harvest and the Bristol Mum Festival every year. Tons and tons of fun.

Sounds like great fun and yes indeed that had to have been the very best part! When, not if, we ever get to New England I will insist on going in the Fall. One of my dream trips...
