This is one of the better photos of me taken today, so I thought I would pass it along. I am holding 2 two travel bugs, bugs are items that travel from geocache to geocache. The sheep is from Italy, and the small one is a little light from Germany.

Hey, Fuel, nice travel bugs. I'm so glad you feel like geocaching again. My kids are kinda' on "winter break" from caching right now. But I'm sure once the weather improves they will all be out there searchin' high and low for all of those elusive caches again. You are lookin' good my friend.

Hi Fuel, Nice photo of you. Okay someone please explain what Geocaching is? If you get little rewards like you are holding, then is sounds interesting.

According to Wikipedia... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching)

Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook and "treasure", usually toys or trinkets of little monetary value.

Thanks for the info TK. So how does one get involved in this activity??

Thanks, working out is making a big difference and looking for Tupperware container's in the woods is also keeping me active. Although when it's below 30 or above 75 you won't find me out there.

The way to get involved is to go to geocaching.com and put in your zip code and find the local caches (you'll probably find thousands, there are over 5000 within 100 miles of us). There is a rating system, and types of caches. Start with 1/1 which are the easiest and 5/5 will require some special/gear skills....e.g. rock climbing. A gps will make things easier but not necessary. There is someone local that has over 1000 finds and has no GPS. I'm a little north of 100 finds and I have hidden 3, I also have 5 travel bugs out there. One travel bug is very special to us, I has a picture of our bird on it. We left her travel bug near where she was buried with the goal of reaching California where she was born, but we don't know exactly where so she needs to see the whole state. We released this bug in October and reached Calif. by December. She was last seen in Santa Monica with a nice ocean view.

So.. people just hide these things, leave clues and you go hunt them?

That sounds fun. I just did a search on my zipcode and got 1681 returns.. one looks like it's in the park near my house. Too funny.

YOU LOOK WONDERFUL! Sincerely hope that all systems are in synch and operating properly.

Geocaching must be the most wonderful fun! I would try it, but since Ihave no sense of direction (I do know Left, Right, Up, Down) as to North and the others, I doubt if I could be successful.

In California, knew that the mountains were East--the ocean West (some of the time), I could cerebrate the rest. In Prescott, at 5200', we are surrounded by peaks, mountains, buttes, etc. Sometimes, I can identify the San Francisco Peaks (Flagstaff), but I'd never bet on it.

Keep well, J

Looking great, Fuel! I'm so glad to hear your doing well. We love to geocache too! We have been doing it for about 2 years now. It is a great family activity that doesn't cost money!

You're supposed to put something else back when you take the goodie aren't you?

Yes, you are supposed to swap items.

Suprised by the number of geocachers around these boards. Yes, it is cheap after you buy the GPS the only cost is trinkets & gas...oh, food for events. I've been to 7 events, met over 100 geocachers so far.

It kinda sounds like a modern-day scavenger hunt, only you leave something, too.
