Her black kitty (about 4 yrs old) named CHASE somehow got out the screen door late last night and is still missing.
This cat is an indoor kitty who is very shy and won't go by people. It is most likely terrified and hiding.
Virgo has been searching all over and crying since last night.
Please pray for dear little Chase to be found as soon as possible.

Our vet has a cat-only practice and says that lost "indoor only" cats are usually very close. She advises to put out food near the door kitty went out along with a blanket with your family "smells" on it (one off your bed or the afghan from your sofa that everyone snuggles in) to help him find you.

Still no luck in finding Chase, but Virgo has put some of her clothes with her scent outside the door. Also some litter box with litter from Chases scent and some tuna fish, water, a kitty condo Chase is familiar with in hopes she will go inside it, and some toys.
Supposed to set some hava heart cages from a kid on the block.
Tonight Virgo says she will sleep on the floor near the door Chase got out of in a sleeping bag so she can open her eyes and see if she is there.
Poor kitty, please come home to meowmie. :crying:

My heart goes out to Virgo. House kittys are so much a part of our families. I hope Chase finds his way home soon.

Chase is home! I got an email this AM. I thought she might have posted here already, but she's been a nervous wreck, and said something about taking her to the vet. She doesn't appear to be hurt in anyway,so I guess the visit is a precaution.

Thank you all for your prayers for the safe return of CHASE to her home. Virgo is worn out from the last 2 nights without much sleep but CHASE is safe and sound at home as of this morining and busy marking her scent all over, eating a little bit at a time, and drinking a little.
Virgo will check her out for ticks and wounds after Chase gets some rest, but since she appears to be okay the vet visit will wait a bit so as not to put her through anymore trauma today.
I'm sure once they both rest up (Chase and Virgo) they will have a "tail" to tell, and you know Virgo will not miss any DETAILS.
I was so happy, I was crying this morning. :cheer:
Thank you God for prayers answered !!

CHASE'S GREAT ADVENTURE
It was 10pm Sunday and my "mommy" had just gotten off the phone with her sister in Maine. I noticed a strange cat in our backyard while lying with my pal Sage looking out the new sunroom gliding screen door. Magick was also there, but she was too busy licking herself to notice the menacing feline. Suddenly, the stray hissed and Sage, Magick and I decided to teach this cat a lesson.
Sage is very little, but fiesty and she was the one that used her tiny paw to open the door and let me out. She was chicken.
There I was facing this big black and white monster while Sage and Magick looked on from the safety of the room. I charged at it and vocally abused it until it jumped over the gate heading to our driveway. Now I was scared. I had never been outside before and all the sights and smells seemed interesting to me.
Mom came running into the room when she heard all the hissing and growling.
I heard her yell to "dad" that Chase was gone. Now I could have headed back into the house, but the wild was calling for an adventure and I took a chance and ran through an opening in the neighbor's fence. Big mistake. I didn't have any clue which way to go. I heard mom and dad calling my name but I got confused and ended up going through another fence into a very overgrown backyard. Geez, don't these people ever mow their grass I thought.
Mom and dad had flashlights now and I could hear the panic in Mom's voice.
Knowing her, she probably didn't have the right shoes on for running after me, but she did it anyway. I was so afraid so I hid. It was so dark and the sounds of night were loud in my ears. I heard dad say to mom that it was after midnight and they should give up for the night. I wished that I could have called out to them "I am here, help me" but I couldn't and I had to spend the night without a nice couch or bed to sleep on.
The next day I wandered into another yard and another going around in circles.
I found a nice place for a nap and then some large machine with blades started up and I knew I had to get out of there fast. In the distance for hours I could hear mom's voice calling my name and whistling the tune she does when we play with the laser light. She also was squeaking my favorite mouse toy and shaking a bag of treats. Boy, I wish I had them, my stomach was growling.
Again it grew very dark and I knew I would have to spend another night hidden in the weeds so that a raccoon, nasty dog or even that hostile cat couldn't find me. I missed my family.
In the middle of the night around 3 or 4am a strong breeze picked up and I could smell dad's stinky sock and mom's gardening sweatshirt. I also picked up the scent of Sage and Magick and Friskie's tuna in a can. And was that also the smell of my territory, my litterbox and my little carpeted condo. I needed to find my way home and that is what I did. The sun was just about to rise and Mom was still crying and standing by the door calling my name. I was tired from having no sleep and an empty stomach so I just laid down in the iris plants near the shed and hoped someone would find me.
Suddenly, they were there with food and loving arms.
Mom was thanking God and all the nice people that gave her support, said kind words, but mostly prayed for my safe return.
Will I go on another outside adventure? hmmmmm, I don't think so.
THE END!
Thanks to Patchie for posting this thread to let everyone know about my missing cat. And also thanks to Patchie and Pocket for spreading the good news that Chase had been found. All the prayers reached the right ear and my Chase is back home. We live on a busy street and our biggest fear was finding her on the side of the road after being hit by a car. This whole thing reminded me of waiting up all night for one of my kids that missed curfew. It will be good to actually get a full good night's sleep. Hugs to all.

I thought people would think my story was lame, but I wanted to be alittle creative in letting everyone know what happened and how we found her. Yes, Chase is a female. She got her name because originally my youngest daughter had her. My daughter was in college and worked at a restaurant on the weekends. Chase was living under the back entrance steps of the restaurant for months after her mother was hit by a car. Nobody knew if she had siblings that also were orphaned. The Spanish speaking men in the kitchen would throw out scraps to her and on occasion she would slip in through an unwatched door.
Since the men couldn't speak English very well my daughter said you could hear them yelling "Chase! Chase!" meaning chase the cat out of the restaurant.
That is where the name came from. One night there was a big blizzard and everyone was sent home early. My daughter couldn't leave that young cat sitting outside in that weather and decided to bring her home for the weekend.
One thing led to another and she ended up keeping her hidden in her off campus apt. until eventually the landlord found it and said that either my daughter left or the cat. That is when I got the call asking if I could take her.
She had come here during my daughter's winter break to get spayed and we knew she got along with my other two cats so I said yes.
It was great sleeping soundly last night with Chase at my feet.

Such a great story! (Everything about it.) I love happy endings. It is always nice to hear about an event that ended the way we would like it to end.
Please give Chase a scratch behind her ears and loves of petting. I'm sure she won't want to do that again....at least until she forgets what happened when she did.

Can you guys add George to your cat-prayers?
He's missing. Went out the back door (he opens it when we forget to lock it). Usually, he's just on the deck. I'm not normally one to worry about these things, but we're supposed to leave for vacation tomorrow.
Help send "George go home" thoughts! :)

Meow...hold those prayers. My mom totally over-reacted. Geez. Chase got to be gone all night. I only got 2 hours. I'll never understand why she lets her other boys run around outside chasing insects and little critters, but won't let me spend a glorious day in the sunshine doing the same thing. --George the cat

I'm glad to know that George was found.
But, I do want you to know, beagles are pretty great escape artists, as well. It has only been recently that my beagle hasn't darted out a door or fence to go and smell all of the great smells out there in the great world.
The last escapade was while my kids and I were in Iowa, my husband was moving the last things out of our rental onto a trailer and somehow our beagle saw an opening and took it. He later found her a couple streets over from our house. I didn't tell my daughter what had happened because she would've been boo-hooing it up since she couldn't do anything and she doesn't think "Daddy" loves the dog as much as she does. If truth be told I think the dog loves him more because he talks her on walks everyday!!!
What my daughter doesn't know, in this instance, won't hurt her.
Oh, he was only able to catch her by calling "Walk" and showing her the leash at the same time. (I'm re-evaluating my thoughts on her being smart or not.)
