Congratulations on your anniversary. It's a great feeling, isn't it? I'm glad every time I see someone else light up, that monkey is no longer on my back.

Way to go Irish Lass...It's the biggest issue I have with my husband. We don't fight about it, I just am always, constantly telling him..."Hey, you smoke too much". I don't see an end in sight, He makes no attempt to even cut back...Sort of pisses me off. We finally got married 2 years ago. I held off for about 8 years asking him to quit first. I want him around for a long time to come. I lost a fiance once (not to smoking) and I don't want to have the thought in my head that I could lose my husband too. I'd be broken hearted and probably angry too....

I stopped reading after the first post, so I hope this thread hasn't gone awry, but I just wanted to give some applause on kicking the habit. My parents have been smokers for about 35 years each, and it worries me every single day. Good for you for accomplishing this, that's no small feat!

A big round of applause to all you quitters out there. It was definitely one of the most difficult things I have ever done in my life. Everybody can do it, you just have to find that certain something (or someone)that helps.

Bumping this up to celebrate. I just realized, this is my 5 year anniversary. Five smoke free years, WOOHOO! I thought about it last week, but with watching my mother today and the Superbowl tonight, I forgot all about it until I saw the calendar on the Homepage here.
